I create natural products for curious women who love learning about their bodies. I give women tools to pamper and support healthy function of their reproductive parts and menstrual cycles (and more on the horizon!), bringing greater health, self-confidence and happiness into their lives. My inspiration comes from nature, traditional practices of native peoples and simpler times.

The why behind what I do:

Taking charge of your reproductive health is completely radical. It was for me at least, and I believe it can be for you too. Becoming an advocate for my reproductive health has had rippling effects, improving my health and happiness in all areas of my life. I want this for other women. When women are happy and healthy, their families, communities and ultimately the world benefits.

A little bit about me:

  • In college, I acted in Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues-- there’s no quicker way to get comfortable talking about vaginas in public. At the time, I had no clue I'd end up launching a vagina-centric business!

  • I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America where herbs were smashed and brewed with tea every day, all day. I quickly learned to respect and believe in the healing properties of plants.

  • On a hunch, I got off birth control in 2015 which caused me to become my own reproductive health advocate

  • I enrolled in herb school and became a Certified Western Herbalist and am now a Clinical Herbalist

  • Somewhere along my herbal studies, I learned about the traditional use of vaginal herbal steaming which changed my life

Kapu in the Making

I asked my uncle who is a master carpenter to help me develop steam chair prototypes. i explained what a steam chair was, we had a good laugh, then we set straight off to work.

I make steam chairs so that other women can experience the life-changing benefits of vaginal herbal steaming, which include:

  • Healthy function of reproductive system and menstrual cycles

  • Increased self-confidence, body literacy, self-respect

  • A deeper connection with your sacred feminine side

  • Postpartum recovery support

  • Calms and relaxes the nervous system

Although Kapu started with my handmade pelvic steam stools, the tagline has always been “holistic care for women.” So I’ll continue to expand Kapu as I love creating things that don’t yet exist in the world, but would definitely benefit women if they did.
